We recommend using Open Source web development packages such joomla or mambo to build websites and online communities.  If you're not sure what Open Source is it could be summarized as software developed by a community of like minded individuals rather than companies intent on profit only; it is usually available for free!

All you need to get online very quickly (at least in a basic way) is a PHP and MySQL server and joomla and about US$100-200 a year.

We will post a series of articles outlining some of the basic steps you an take to get a simple website up and running quickly and easily.

Stay tuned for more info.
